Skin tags are small, soft, skin-coloured growths that hang off the skin, giving them the name “tags”. They can look like warts but vary in size and thickness, growing anywhere between a few millimetres and up to 5cm. They result from a build-up of loose collagen fibres and blood vessels, but it is unclear what causes them. Skin tags are typically found on the neck, armpits, around the groin, or under the breasts. They are common and don’t often cause pain. In our experience, our clients usually choose to have them removed if they become unsightly or if they are catching on clothing or jewellery.
