Milia (also known as milk spots) are often mistaken for whiteheads but are keratin-filled cysts that form just under the skin, looking like white or yellowish bumps on the surface. While they are not painful or a cause for concern health-wise, Milia are not cosmetically appealing and can be removed with a simple one-off treatment. Treatments last around 30 minutes and our therapist will talk you through the best option for you. Milia Removal Benefits: Removes a source of irritation. While milia are asymptomatic, they can itch. Stop irritated and red skin caused by rough sheets or clothing. Increased self-confidence; milia around the eyes can be very noticeable and make people feel self-conscious about their appearance. Immediate Milia Removal Aftercare Immediately following your treatment, the skin may appear a bit red and swollen at the treatment site. This is perfectly normal and will subside after a few hours. Milia removal aftercare: Apply a cooling gel such as Witch Hazel or Aloe Vera to the area quite liberally. This will keep the site cool and prevent infection. Avoid direct heat such as hot baths or showers, saunas and exposure to sunlight or sunbeds. Use a minimum of SPF 25 when in the sun. Do not apply any other product to the treated area unless specifically advised. Avoid touching the area unnecessarily. Gently wash and pat dry the area, do not rub.
