All of my light airy romantic, creamy and floral perfumes are in my spring wardrobe now. When the seasons change, I put away my heavier gourmands dramatic winter scents to the back of my shelf. It’s like when you change your closet. I will miss some scents, but this is something I always look forward to at the start of a new season.
My rich boozy winter gourmands are one thing that doesn’t change as I switch from winter to spring scents. I’m a total foodie, so my rich boozy winter gourmands give way to lighter more delicate and creamy versions that make me think of spring and summer. Right now, I’m reaching for teas with lively scents, mango notes, and lactonic gourmands. These are some of the most praised scents I have. Below are nine perfumes I want to buy this spring, starting at $15.
Royal Milk Eau de Parfum from Scents UnEarth’d
Scents UnEarth’d Eau de Parfum
Credit: Target $41 at Target
Royal Milk is my new favourite scent if you like creamy milky scents. It has a warm inviting milky scent with hints of almond milk, blue chamomile, and vanilla honey. I think of it as fuzzy warm blankets and shades of cream. It doesn’t taste too sweet; it’s more soft and cosy, and it stays on skin and clothes for hours.
Etleé Amber and Vanilla Eau de Parfum
Vanilla and Amber Eau de Parfum by ETLEÉ
Credit: Amazon $19 at Amazon
I call these kinds of perfumes lotion scents because they smell smooth creamy enveloping, like putting on lotion after a hot shower. Etleé’s Vanilla and Amber has notes of vanilla amber sandalwood, coconut, and heliotrope. It smells like Jergens lotion which is soft and creamy. It tastes like milk and is a little sweet, but not too sweet.
Tone by AMP Coconut Roll-on Scent Oil
TONE by AMP Roll-On Fragrance Oil Costs $15 at Target
Tone is a new body care line at Target, and all of its scents smell unique and hard to find, which is not what you’d expect from something that costs $15. I didn’t think this would be my favourite because I don’t like coconuts, but it really blew me away. It has notes of pear, jasmine, coffee, and sandalwood in addition to coconut, which makes it very unique classy. It has a sexy inviting quality that doesn’t depend on gender.
Miu Miu Fleur de Lait Eau de Parfum with Coconut Milk
Eau de Parfum Miu Miu Fleur de Lait
$108 at Sephora; thanks Sephora
Mango is one of the most popular scents for spring and summer, right after strawberry. What isn’t there to love? It’s bright sweet tropical without being too much. The notes of coconut milk, osmanthus, and mango in Miu Miu’s Fleur de Lait make it the perfect creamy subtle gourmand. The notes make it sound like it would be sickly sweet but it’s the perfect mix of rich, earthy, and expensive-smelling.
Brio Eau de Parfum by Belnu Bergamot
Brio Belnu Bergamot
Belnu.com has it for $175.
Bergamot has a bright refreshing citrus scent that is similar to limes and lemons. It has a spicy smell popular with both men and women, and it smells amazing. This spicy uplifting blend from Bergamot Brio combines bergamot with lavender, pink pepper, and vetiver to make a scent that feels energetic and indulgent for spring. I mix it with Scents UnEarth’d Royal Milk Eau de Parfum, and it’s the most beautiful creamy citrussy combination that makes me feel both relaxed and strong.
House of Brandt London Fog Perfume
London Fog by House of Brandt
$245 at Luckyscent.com; thanks to House of Brandt
London Fog smells like the first day spring after a long, hard winter. It’s green full life, and bubbly, with hints of tea, milk, and honey in the dry down. This smells like fresh citrus scent, so you’ll love it. The subtle tea note makes it smell so much better than any other scent you’ve tried.
