Want to give your mascara a break every now and then? If you want long, full eyelashes that don’t need to be touched up, we suggest putting one of the best eyelash serums on your beauty shopping list.
These makeup bag essentials have active ingredients like vitamin B5, proteins, and natural extracts that nourish and condition your hair follicles, giving you soft, full lashes.
The Good Housekeeping Institute hired a group of testers to try out a range of market-leading growth serums for two months to find the ones that really work. This is a list of the ones that got their seal of approval, but you can read their full reviews below.
How we check
We asked 380 testers to use one of 28 lash serums for two months. After the trial period was over, they gave us a lot of information about how they did. They told us if their eyelashes grew, how easy it was to apply, if they had any irritation, and if they would recommend the product to others.
At the Good Housekeeping Institute, our beauty experts used a VISIA photo analysis machine to measure any changes in the length and volume of our testers’ lashes before and after the trial. They recorded these changes down to the last 0.1 of a millimetre.

Score: 85 out of 100
Our lab tests showed that the length and volume of our panellists’ lashes grew a lot, so it’s not surprising that this serum came out on top.
Most of our panel saw an improvement in their lashes within 5–6 weeks. Many said they looked longer, and the conditioner that came with it even made their mascara look better. The product was also easy to use because it came with a thin applicator brush and dried quickly after being applied.

If your eyes are sensitive, just the thought of putting anything near them can make you cry. This lash serum, on the other hand, was made with people with sensitive eyes in mind, and none of our testers felt any irritation or stinging.
Most of the people on the panel said they also saw longer, fuller lashes. So much so that one person said they had stopped wearing mascara altogether.
The formula is free of common irritants and has nourishing ingredients like peptides, hyaluronic acid, and plant extracts that help the lashes grow. One sweep will cover hair follicles with ingredients that strengthen and hydrate them, making the best environment for growth.

This Talika serum is light and non-greasy, and it did well in our lab test, increasing lash volume by 8% over eight weeks.
Testers liked that the formula was smooth and not sticky or greasy, and almost everyone agreed that it wasn’t too heavy. The lashes felt softer, shinier, and more separated as well.
Most testers said they saw more hair growth in areas where there weren’t many hairs before, and their lashes got longer. One even stopped using lash extensions because they were so happy with the results.

This serum is made for lids that are prone to irritation. It doesn’t have any common irritants, and it has myristoyl pentapeptide-17, which helps nourish lashes. Even though the name sounds scary, it has a lot of antioxidants and peptides, which are known for making lashes stronger.
A little bit goes a long way, and the 2ml bottle lasts for three months. The brand says that regular use should show visible growth in four to six weeks. One of our testers said they saw a difference around week seven.

Revolve sells it for £135.

This high-end growth serum is definitely an investment, but most of our testers said it made their hair thicker and longer in places where it was thin. It has vitamin B3 in it, which helps blood flow to the hair follicles and encourages growth.
The brush let our testers put down the right amount of the light, gel-like product, which helped them not waste any. Some people said it hurt a little bit if they got it in their eyes, so be careful when you put it on. It dried quickly and didn’t leave behind any stickiness or oil.

We really like the bright blue packaging, but as we all know, what’s inside is what matters. Pea peptides and hyaluronic acid are two of the many healthy ingredients in the formula that help create a good environment for growth.
